Tales of Rathe: Melody

Melody, Sing-along
(Melody, Sing-along | Art by Andy Aslamov)

Each living soul in Rathe has a family, a purpose, a story. And so do our heroes. Through Tales of Rathe, we’ll get to meet each hero again, through a story from their perspective. Let’s take a look at Melody, Sing-along and her story.

The muse cares not if it is wanted. The muse comes only to those in need.

The life of an entertainer isn’t all milk and honey. So cherish each smile, every child that reaches its arms towards you, their eyes full of wonder. And never forget to always put on your biggest smile, show off your best side and be the light these people expect.

Song of Yesteryears

I am just an instrument of the Flow, and people can feel that. My purpose is not simply entertaining the crowd with song and dance. At times like these, where joy is scarce and tears are flooding the hearts of an entire nation, we bards have a new task – bringing back hope and fighting off the darkness.

A bard’s job isn’t just the nice and heartwarming parts. The work takes you to places full of pain, grief and sorrow. Which is the main reason why my songs are filled with the spirits of ancestors and days long gone. They take you back to the simples times, where the biggest pain was losing a lover.

The situation in Aria is heartbreaking – the creatures of pure chaos, wreaking destruction with every step. So if somebody can do something, sing a song of bravery, of harmony and hope, it’s gonna be me. The melody coming from my fiddle not only comforts those whose souls are scarred, they also chase away the nightmares that plunder the land and bring way to a brighter dawn.
