The ambient noise and light of The Alchmist’s Coffers surroundings were gently bleeding in through the shop’s doors while it’s proprietress hummed to herself, shelving a brand new brew as she awaited new customers. A small picture of a woman holding an odd device next to her was propped up next to the new brew.<\/em><\/p>\n

A Different Item for a Different Job<\/h2>\n
<\/div><\/div>\n

Dash, Inventor Extraordinaire<\/a><\/span><\/span> has been an iconic hero in Flesh and Blood\u00a0<\/em>time and time again, partly for her hero ability that allows her to begin the game with an item in play. The other reason that Dash may be so well known is due to the fact she’s been the only Mechanologist hero for Classic Constructed, at least until the advent of three new heroes in the upcoming Bright Lights.<\/em><\/p>\n

With Dash being the mainstay of the deck, we get to start the game with the item this deck is amplified by, Convection Amplifier<\/a><\/span><\/span>. Starting this way allows this deck to operate on a few different axes than the other traditional Dash decks do, by dominating any two attacks you want, be it Command and Conquer<\/a><\/span><\/span>, Firebreathing<\/a><\/span><\/span>, Scramble Pulse<\/a><\/span><\/span>, or any of the other attacks in the deck. Including Pummel<\/a><\/span><\/span> allows us to dominate any two-cost attack in the deck and add a Pummel to the damage already done.<\/p>\n

In contrast to other Dash decks utilizing Amplifier, this one leans more into a defensive position, capable of always having a dominated attack to send back.<\/p>\n

Pay the Pounder Toll<\/h2>\n

Even if boosting into next week is not the goal of this pile, we can borrow the pure power of Teklo Pounder<\/a><\/span><\/span> to give a few of our boost cards a few more points of power. When looking to go a bit more wide with cards like Throttle<\/a><\/span><\/span> or Scramble Pulse<\/a><\/span><\/span>, so long as we boost a card away Pounder is a good tool to have access to.<\/p>\n

Even though this list plays a fair number of non-Mech cards from time to time, sometimes you’ll boost anyways for the pure upside it can occasionally provide. Spark of Genius<\/a><\/span><\/span> is here to help grab the items in the deck to minimize the amount of non-blocks in the deck and put them in play rather than getting stuck in hand. Ultimately this pile dances the fine line of being defensive and having too many cards that don’t block.<\/p>\n

Equipment, Factory Direct<\/h2>\n

Equipment for Dash is rather straight-forward, all things considered. Fyendal’s Spring Tunic<\/a><\/span><\/span>, as tradition, is one of the best generic chest pieces in the game and provides this deck a recurring resource and a block as necessary. Crown of Providence<\/a><\/span><\/span> is an invaluable equipment, as it always is no matter the pile (powerful generics will always be strong). That strength is always compounded by the two block Crown of Providence provides as well as the opportunity to filter your hand or arsenal while playing defensive.<\/p>\n

Goliath Gauntlet<\/a><\/span><\/span> is the armpiece of choice for its ability to further add damage and pressure to the wide range of attacks that this deck presents. From Firebreathing<\/a><\/span><\/span>, Throttle<\/a><\/span><\/span>, Command and Conquer<\/a><\/span><\/span>, and more, this deck provides plenty of fuel for Goliath Gauntlet to buff.<\/p>\n

For the legs of choice, there are few options better than Achilles Accelerator<\/a><\/span><\/span> (at time of writing), providing arcane barrier for no cost and providing an action point refund for missed boosts, or simply to extend a turn where a boost did succeed when used.<\/p>\n

This equip suite is nothing fancy or interesting, but very effective with tried and tested equipment pieces.<\/p>\n

Bits, Bobs, and Sideboards<\/h2>\n

With a very flexible main deck and generically powerful equipment suite, Amp Dash has the versatile option of adding different deck options into the sideboard. Items such as Plasma Purifier<\/a><\/span><\/span> and Induction Chamber<\/a><\/span><\/span> can slot easily into the sideboard for more defensive options, relying on firing back with the Teklo Plasma Pistol<\/a><\/span><\/span> when you can’t afford sending a normal attack at your opponent otherwise. Those, along with other sideboard options such as Oasis Respite<\/a><\/span><\/span> and Sink Below<\/a><\/span><\/span>, provide the ability to transform the deck into a more defensive stance when you need to always be on the defensive.<\/p>\n

Dash, and Mechanologist in general, have always had the unique options available to them to make any deck reach a wide variety of play styles and sideboard tools. With Bright Lights\u00a0<\/em>on the very near horizon, piles like this might fade into obscurity. Or perhaps it will find new tools to call its own and empower Convection Amplifier and the other options Mechanologist as a whole will gain from the upcoming set.<\/p>\n

So before we boost into oblivion and (maybe) never see this deck again, perhaps take a few moments and try out something a bit odd and out there with everything we have had up to now. Maybe I’ll be back with an update to this after Bright Lights, <\/em>but perhaps not.
