As the Alchemist’s Coffer finds its way into the city of Metrix to find more business, the shopkeep smiles as a new potion is placed upon her shelves. The new brew sits idly next to her previous one, looking oddly similar. Despite the bright lights and loud noises, she awaits her customers patiently.<\/em><\/p>\n

New Set, New Theorycrafting<\/h2>\n

With the release of Bright<\/em> Lights<\/em>, a substantial number of new cards have been unleashed into the game for all kinds of new deck brews. So with looking at what new cards we have access to, going back to an existing deck and tweaking it to include new support can be very vital. In this case, it’s Amp Dash getting a remodel to implement plenty of new cards and try to redefine the strategy it was going for previously.<\/p>\n

While still employing Convection Amplifier<\/a><\/span><\/span> to grant larger attacks dominate, Dash has gotten plenty of new tools to add pressure to attacks, opting for a slight change in plan to punish little leaks of damage while still dominating punishing attacks like Command and Conquer<\/a><\/span><\/span>. Dash I\/O<\/a><\/span><\/span>‘s ability to play an item at instant speed for an extra resource allows surprise extra damage from Boom Grenade<\/a><\/span><\/span>, stopping your opponent in their tracks with Signal Jammer<\/a><\/span><\/span> or other such tools.<\/p>\n

Rebuilt and Retooled<\/h2>\n

With a new set full of cards to be used in many different ways, Dash has plenty of options in both equipment and attacks. Galvanize lets you turn expired items into a touch of additional block without expending your hand on block, with Steel Street Hoons<\/a><\/span><\/span> and Adaptive Plating<\/a><\/span><\/span> being the standouts for this purpose. Hydraulic Press<\/a><\/span><\/span>, Scrap Hopper<\/a><\/span><\/span>, and Scrap Harvester<\/a><\/span><\/span> recycle your used up items for a wide variety of benefits, from overpower to extending the life of items in play, much like Master Cog<\/a><\/span><\/span>. Those recycled items can be put back into work with the help of Heist<\/a><\/span><\/span> hitting for some solid tempo.<\/p>\n

Cognition Nodes<\/a><\/span><\/span> allows your attacks to be returned to the bottom of the deck to help lessen the burn of fatigue and running out of options. Powder Keg<\/a><\/span><\/span> can blow up equipment that blocked one of your attacks (like Ultron<\/a><\/span><\/span>).\u00a0 Dropping Stasis Cell<\/a><\/span><\/span> in the middle of your opponent’s turn can turn off something such as Teklo Foundry Heart<\/a><\/span><\/span> before your opponent can use it or ensure they can’t block with their Crown of Providence<\/a><\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Learn, Adapt, Evolve<\/h2>\n

Rebuilding and retooling an old deck with new cards has its own share of challenges, with new tweaks and new directions in which the pile can be taken – from a brand new prototype that needs to go through its own testing and tuning, to making new cuts and replacements to strengthen the deck in the way that you want.<\/p>\n

While it may seem tiresome and annoying from time to time, tuning and revising a list with new cards or tech that simply wasn’t considered before can be its own fun before any tournament. This list is mostly an example of how the prior Amplifier Dash list can involve and goals can shift while holding the same core idea. So even if a deck is jank and not always the best thing you can do, you can evolve and adapt the list to the people you play against at an Armory or the meta you might expect at a Calling. Of course, how any deck is built and tweaked is down to personal preference.<\/p>\n

Tinkering With Tools<\/h2>\n

With all things considered, and the vast amounts of new cards Mech got in Bright Lights<\/em>, it’s hard to say there is a definitive best idea for now. Experiment with all of the new cards, find the tools that you most want to adapt to your build, and tweak it to your liking. When a set introduces new tools, there’s always a song and dance with what to add or to cut. So with this prototype, or perhaps any other deck that catches your interest, take some time, experiment with it, tweak and edit it to your liking, and make the deck yours.<\/p>\n
