Let&#8217;s discuss.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rhinar is incredibly fun in Limited play.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Reprinting a hero allows LSS to support existing archetypes directly.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hero specialists will be continuously rewarded.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/><\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Here&#8217;s how LSS designer and developer Bryan Gottlieb phrased the studio&#8217;s reprint decision to me:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p><em><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 14pt\">Rhinar was a perfect fit for the limited environment we were sculpting. For Blitz?<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We know from previous sets like <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Monarch <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">that LSS is willing to adjust a card&#8217;s power level to make a hero more viable in Limited play, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fabrec.gg\/articles\/the-rise-and-fall-of-talents-in-flesh-and-blood\/#:~:text=They%20wanted%20all,Chane%20draft%20archetype.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">as I discussed here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><strong><i>Heavy Hitters <\/i><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>needs to be a successful limited product<\/strong> since Sealed and Draft will be featured in various <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fabtcg.com\/articles\/premier-play-announcement-early-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">high-tier events<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. As players prepare for these events, they&#8217;ll need boxes to open and practice. More importantly, Limited play attracts new, casual, and competitive players alike to their local game stores. <\/span><\/p>\r\n<h2>Limited Play in <i>Heavy Hitters<\/i><\/h2>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><div class=\"edhrecp__cards\"><div class=\"edhrecp__card-container\" name=\"Mandible Claw\"><\/div><div class=\"edhrecp__card-container\" name=\"Titan&#8217;s Fist\"><\/div><div class=\"edhrecp__card-container\" name=\"Cintari Saber\"><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><strong><i>Heavy Hitters<\/i> features three of the &#8220;fairest&#8221; classes in <i>Flesh and Blood:<\/i><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0Brutes, Guardians, and Warriors. By fair, I mean these classes consistently apply one card for three to four damage.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><div class=\"edhrecp__cards\"><div class=\"edhrecp__card-container\" name=\"Romping Club\"><\/div><div class=\"edhrecp__card-container\" name=\"Anothos\"><\/div><div class=\"edhrecp__card-container\" name=\"Decimator, Great Axe\"><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">By examining some of the weapons (<span class=\"edhrecp__link\"><a class=\"edhrecp__link-a\" content=\"Mandible Claw\"href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\">Mandible Claw<\/a><span class=\"edhrecp__link-image\"><\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"edhrecp__link\"><a class=\"edhrecp__link-a\" content=\"Titan&#8217;s Fist\"href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\">Titan&#8217;s Fist<\/a><span class=\"edhrecp__link-image\"><\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"edhrecp__link\"><a class=\"edhrecp__link-a\" content=\"Cintari Saber\"href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\">Cintari Saber<\/a><span class=\"edhrecp__link-image\"><\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"edhrecp__link\"><a class=\"edhrecp__link-a\" content=\"Romping Club\"href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\">Romping Club<\/a><span class=\"edhrecp__link-image\"><\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"edhrecp__link\"><a class=\"edhrecp__link-a\" their weapons to turn resources into consistent damage turn after turn.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Brutes, Guardians, and Warriors supersede their on-rate limitations by:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Gaining go again (<span class=\"edhrecp__link\"><a class=\"edhrecp__link-a\" content=\"Agility\"href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\">Agility<\/a><span class=\"edhrecp__link-image\"><\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"edhrecp__link\"><a class=\"edhrecp__link-a\" content=\"Spoils of War\"href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\">Spoils of War<\/a><span class=\"edhrecp__link-image\"><\/span><\/span>)<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Using their Hitters<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> bringing multiple high-value tokens to the table, these martial classes are getting the same boost Rangers (and, to a lesser extent, Assassins) received from <span class=\"edhrecp__link\"><a class=\"edhrecp__link-a\" content=\"Bloodrot Pox\"href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\">Bloodrot Pox<\/a><span class=\"edhrecp__link-image\"><\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"edhrecp__link\"><a class=\"edhrecp__link-a\" content=\"Frailty\"href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\">Frailty<\/a><span class=\"edhrecp__link-image\"><\/span><\/span>, and <span class=\"edhrecp__link\"><a class=\"edhrecp__link-a\" content=\"Inertia\"href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\">Inertia<\/a><span class=\"edhrecp__link-image\"><\/span><\/span> tokens.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><div class=\"edhrecp__cards\"><div class=\"edhrecp__card-container\" name=\"Agility\"><\/div><div class=\"edhrecp__card-container\" name=\"Might\"><\/div><div class=\"edhrecp__card-container\" name=\"Vigor\"><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>The <span class=\"edhrecp__link\"><a class=\"edhrecp__link-a\" content=\"Agility\"href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\">Agility<\/a><span class=\"edhrecp__link-image\"><\/span><\/span>, <span class=\"edhrecp__link\"><a class=\"edhrecp__link-a\" content=\"Might\"href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\">Might<\/a><span class=\"edhrecp__link-image\"><\/span><\/span>, and <span class=\"edhrecp__link\"><a class=\"edhrecp__link-a\" content=\"Vigor\"href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\">Vigor<\/a><span class=\"edhrecp__link-image\"><\/span><\/span> tokens in <i>Heavy Hitters<\/i><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong> allow typical or average turn cycles to go beyond historical averages and empower these classes.<\/strong> Yes, Brutes, Guardians, and Warriors have seen competitive success, but if we remove the Elemental Guardians from the equation, they&#8217;ve been on the outside looking in of the top tables for far too long. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Heavy Hitters<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> will change this.<br \/><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h3>Rhinar in Sealed and Draft<\/h3>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I wrote about Rhinar in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Welcome to Rathe<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Limited play <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/collisionpoint.blog\/2022\/01\/26\/wtr-draft-advice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. In that set, Rhinar cared about attacks for six power or higher, yellow pitch cards, pumps, his weapon, and gaining evasion from intimidate, an incredibly <a href=\"https:\/\/collisionpoint.blog\/2022\/05\/02\/immersion-rhinar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">immersive mechanic<\/a> showing the ferocity of Brutes and the Savage Lands and how they frighten their opponents so much they&#8217;re unable to block properly.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><div class=\"edhrecp__cards\"><div class=\"edhrecp__card-container\" name=\"Show No Mercy\"><\/div><div class=\"edhrecp__card-container\" name=\"Rawhide Rumble red\"><\/div><div class=\"edhrecp__card-container\" name=\"Bonebreaker Bellow red\"><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Heavy Hitters<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, it looks like we can expect more of the same. Rhinar may be looking for more reds and blues than yellows this time around so he can have as many six-power attacks as possible and have the resources to pay for cards like <span class=\"edhrecp__link\"><a class=\"edhrecp__link-a\" content=\"Show No Mercy\"href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\">Show No Mercy<\/a><span class=\"edhrecp__link-image\"><\/span><\/span>, or pay for a pump and an attack like <span class=\"edhrecp__link\"><a class=\"edhrecp__link-a\" content=\"Bonebreaker Bellow red\"href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\">Bonebreaker Bellow<\/a><span class=\"edhrecp__link-image\"><\/span><\/span> and <span class=\"edhrecp__link\"><a class=\"edhrecp__link-a\" content=\"Rawhide Rumble red\"href=\"#\" target=\"_blank\">Rawhide Rumble<\/a><span class=\"edhrecp__link-image\"><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h2>Rhinar Brings More Focused Support to Existing Archetypes<\/h2>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Reprinting Rhinar goes beyond forming a memorable Limited format. This plan needed supplementary sets to keep old heroes viable and the talent system to move forward without significant issues.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n<h2>The Reprint Is More Evidence That LSS Will Continue to Reward Specialists<\/h2>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As I mentioned earlier, the hero reprints and return to archetypes in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Outsiders<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> brought unprecedented success to Rangers and prepared a path for Ninjas to return to the top tables.
